Every June, National Dairy Month rolls around. It started in 1937 as a way to promote milk during surplus season, but it’s grown into something more meaningful—at least for those of us who live close to the industry. It’s a time to stop and give credit to the folks who make dairy happen.
Dairy work isn’t flashy. It’s early mornings, cold hands, and making sure everything’s fed, bred, treated, and tracked—day in, day out. Whether it's a family-run farm or a larger crew operation, what ties them all together is the same grit and routine that keeps milk flowing to the rest of us.
