Working at the help desk, I often get into conversations with dairy producers and managers about cow health data. Recently I was having a conversation with a dairyman about mastitis in cows and asked him this question: "Do you know the difference in 305 ME milk production between cows that had mastitis in the first 60 days and those that didn’t?

This is just one of the many questions that arise when managing dairy cow health. However, it provides a perfect opportunity to jump in and use our dairy herd health analysis tools to come up with the answer.

You'll have to let me know in the comments if you think these results are interesting or not... but here's the video:

There is a number of other questions we can ask as well like:

  1. What pen is the mastitis coming from?
  2. What is the rate of new infections?
  3. What is the recovery rate?
  4. Are my milkers identifying mastitis?

I'll review these and other questions soon. For now, share your thoughts in the comments and maybe it will guide me for future videos.
